Significant Step Forward in Dual Higher Education Development

3 June 2025

A decisive phase in the development of dual higher education has been completed! On June 2-3, 2025, GIPA hosted the second meeting of Working Group 4 within the framework of the European Union's Erasmus+ project DUGEOR.

The meeting was attended by leading organizations in Georgia's education sector: the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, the University of Business Academy in Novi Sad, and the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA).

The main focus of the meeting was on establishing the legal and strategic framework for dual higher education in Georgia. Participants comprehensively discussed the necessary legislative changes and approaches related to accreditation standards.

The discussed changes and recommendations will be presented at the forum planned for June 10-11 in Telavi, which represents the final consolidation phase of the project.

This meeting is a significant step in the process of implementing dual higher education, which will provide students with the opportunity for official recognition of practical skills acquired in real work environments.

Batumi Navigation Teaching University is a member of this project consortium.
