Webinar: Developing Soft Skills in Mariners

On January 23, 2024, academic and invited staff of Batumi Navigation Teaching University attended a webinar on "Developing Soft Skills in Mariners," organized by The Nautical Institute.

During the webinar, a panel of experts discussed the crucial role of soft skills in the modern maritime industry. It was emphasized that maritime is a people-centered industry, where soft skills are essential for effective team collaboration. The relationships between crew members, quality of management, and leadership style determine safe and efficient vessel operation. These skills also influence crew members' decisions to continue or leave their employment.

The webinar explored methods for developing soft skills beyond formal training programs in everyday situations, contributing to maintaining high levels of safety, satisfaction, and well-being at sea.
