BNU at EVTA Annual Political Forum

On 11 December 2025, the Annual Policy Forum organized by the European Vocational Training Association (EVTA) was held in Brussels, at the premises of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), under the theme: ““Building Future-proof VET Ecosystems, Priorities for the New EU VET Strategy".

The forum featured Batumi Navigation University, represented by George Gabedava, Head of the University’s International Relations Office, who participated as a speaker.

In his address, George Gabedava highlighted the importance of social inclusion in vocational education and emphasized the need to increase access to VET for vulnerable groups, prevent early dropout and strengthen support mechanisms. These issues were discussed as crucial factors shaping the resilience of vocational education systems, labor market integration and social equality.

The event brought together VET institutions, social partners, employers, students, youth organizations, and policymakers from across Europe. The forum serves as an important platform for sharing practical experience and presenting recommendations that will be considered in the development of the new EU Vocational Education and Training Strategy.

Discussions also explored how vocational education can become more flexible, innovative and inclusive, how it can prepare for the green and digital transitions, and how to enhance its attractiveness and long-term impact across Europe.

Participation in this high-level political forum once again highlights Batumi Navigation University’s active engagement in shaping European educational policy and its commitment to European values and the development of modern vocational education.
