Visit to the Cooperative State University of Baden-Württemberg in Heilbronn (Germany).
On 25-29 september, 2023, the Deputy Rectors of BNTU, Gela Gvarishvili, George Gabedava, Associate Professor Elida Khvedelidze and International Relations Service intern Nikoloz Kakabadze participated in the organizational meeting and study visit of the ERASMUS+ Capacity Building project "Strengthening the possibilities of implementation of dual education in Georgian higher education (DUGEOR)".
Project Specific Goals are:
- Implementation of dual education into HE system in Georgia;
- Enabling students to learn more relevant knowledge and skills through dual education;
- Improvement of legal framework and accreditation standards in Georgian in order to adapt to dual education;
- Development of a generic model of dual education (DUGEOR model) to support the different needs and interests of students, companies, and higher education institutions (HEIs) in Georgia and to provide recommendations to HEIs for the Implementation of dual education.
Also, a representative of the logistics company "Interlog Georgia" participated in the study visit, which will be involved in the project as a partner organization together with BNTU. As part of the study visit, the consortium members visited the following companies that cooperate with the host university within the framework of dual education: Winery Albrecht Kiessling; AUDI AG; Science Center EXPERIMENTA; DSV Air & Sea Germany Stuttgart-Kornwestheim; Chamber of Industry and Commerce Stuttgart. In addition, various cultural events were planned as part of the visit. The project consortium consists of 16 members, including 4 foreign universities (Serbia, Austria, Germany), 5 Georgian universities and 5 partner organizations. The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement are members of the consortium. The project is financed by the European Union within the framework of the ERASMUS+ Capacity Building program. This project started on January 1, 2023 and will end on December 31, 2026. The host of the meeting was the Cooperative State University of Baden-Württemberg (DHBW) in Heilbronn (Germany).
