Meeting of the Board of Rectors

On July 4, 2024, the Head of Administration/Chancellor of BNTU, Lali Khvedelidze, attended the Board of Rectors meeting, chaired by the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari. Rectors and representatives from state and private universities across Georgia participated in the meeting.

The participants discussed several important topics, including:

• Summary of the 2023-2024 academic year - reforms implemented and their results:
  • Doubling the number of scholars and the amount of the state scholarship;
  • Debt repayment for suspended students;
  • Measures to ensure student access;
  • Introduction of a 3-year bachelor program;
  • Participation in international exhibitions;
  • Support for international program accreditation;
  • Second International Excellence School in Batumi;
  • Competitive Innovation Fund (CIF);
  • Higher education financing model;
  • Various legislative changes, including distance learning.
• Current issues and monitoring results related to authorization and accreditation;
• Quality assurance mechanisms for doctoral educational programs.

Participants had the opportunity to receive comprehensive information from the Minister on topics of interest.

Future meetings will continue and will be held in all authorized public and private universities throughout Georgia.
