Public Lectures at BNTU
On April 1, 2025, BNTU hosted two significant sessions focused on maritime career and education.
Students and vocational students had the opportunity to attend engaging discussions on key maritime topics. The first lecture, Why Do Ship Collisions Occur at Sea Today? The Role of COLREG and Modern Challenges, was led by an experienced sailor and first officer, Giorgi Gersamia. He explored the significance of the Collision Regulations (COLREG), contemporary challenges, and strategies to enhance maritime safety.
Another insightful session, The Importance of Maritime Education for Navigation Students, was conducted by Deep Sea Captain Konstantine Bolkvadze. He highlighted the crucial role of maritime education, hands-on experience and career development opportunities essential for aspiring navigators.
Students actively participated in both sessions, engaging in discussions and receiving valuable advice from the speakers. These meetings play a vital role in helping future maritime professionals expand their knowledge and plan their careers.
