Training "Advanced Program for Digitalization and Smart Shipping"

On June 6, 8 and 10, 2022, George Gabedava, Associate Professor / Head of International Relations Service of the Batumi Navigation Teaching University, attended the training "Advanced Program for Digitalization and Smart Shipping".Smart Shipping is the future of shipping. Its main function is to change the maritime industry in all aspects, to help it become safer, greener and more efficient.
The program aimed to discuss issues related to the latest technologies and legislation initiated by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), such as MASS and NCSR, digitalization and intelligentization of navigation services, satellite communications and digitalization of comprehensive applications and intelligent technologies in shipping.
The following issues were discussed under the program:
- IMO updates (NCSR) , GMDSS, AIS, E-Nav, etc;
- VTS development;
- Digitalization and Intellectualization of Navigation Services Progress of MASS;
- Satellite communication;
- Satellite communication;
- Intelligent ports;
- Comprehensive application digitalization and intelligent technologies in shipping;
The program was organized by the Shanghai Maritime University.
