Training „Advanced Training Program for Maritime Instructors and Administrators from MET Institutions 2022“ (EN)
From June 24 to July 15, 2022, the academic staff of the Batumi Navigation Teaching University and the instructors and administration representatives of the International Maritime Training Center are attending the training "Advanced Training Program for Maritime Instructors and Administrators from MET Institutions 2022".
During the training, the representatives of the world maritime countries and the Maritime University made reports on the following topics:
- Updates on global MET;
- Reviews of industrial needs;
- Capacity building for new qualifications;
- Upgrading MET pedagogics and management;
- Implementation of STCW, MLC and national regulations;
- National reports for MET;
- Planning for future of MET;
George Gabedava, associate professor of BNTU, Head of International Relations Service, and Ekaterine Chikovani, Senior Specialist of the International Maritime Training Center, were invited as speakers during the training. Accordingly, on July 12, a report was made on the topic "MET Practice in Georgia" by them.
The training is organized by the Shanghai Maritime University and the International Association of Maritime Lecturers.
