In 1914, the Trans-Antarctic Expedition led by the Anglo-Irish explorer Ernest Shackleton set out with the ambitious goal of crossing the Antarctic continent.
The expedition sailed aboard the legendary ship Endurance, carrying a crew of 27 men toward Antarctica. However, in January 1915, the vessel became trapped in sea ice.
Although the expedition did not achieve its original objective, it became renowned as an epic story of heroism and endurance.
