George Gabedava, Head of the International Relations Service at Batumi Navigation University and the institutional coordinator of the project, participated in a working meeting held within the framework of the Erasmus+ funded international project “Strengthening Capacities for the Implementation of Dual Education in the Higher Education System of Georgia (DUGEOR).”

The working group meeting took place on 4–5 March 2026 in Tbilisi, at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA), in a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and online participation.

During the meeting, participants discussed the activities carried out within Work Package 4 (WP4) of the project, which focuses on the creation of a legal and strategic framework for the implementation of dual higher education in Georgia. The meeting reviewed the progress achieved in this direction, as well as the development of the legal framework necessary for implementing dual education and the proposed amendments to the accreditation criteria.

In addition, participants worked on a document titled “Recommendations for Higher Education Institutions in Georgia on the Implementation of Dual Higher Education,” which represents one of the important outcomes of the project.

The meeting is of significant importance for the effective implementation of the dual education model in the higher education system of Georgia, while also contributing to the sharing of international experience and strengthening cooperation among universities.
