Representatives of the University Business Academy in Novi Sad Visit BNU
From 18 to 22 May 2026, Batumi Navigation University (BNU) hosted representatives of its partner institution, the University Business Academy in Novi Sad (Serbia), within the framework of the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Programme. The delegation included Prof. Dr. Marijana Mladenov, Vice Rector for International Cooperation, and Prof. Dr. Milena Galetin, Head of the International Relations Office.
During the visit, the guests held a working meeting with Ms. Lali Khvedelidze, Chancellor and Head of Administration of Batumi Navigation University, and Prof. George Gabedava, Head of the International Relations Service. The meeting focused on the achievements of the existing cooperation between the two universities, mobility activities implemented under the Erasmus+ programme, prospects for strengthening institutional collaboration, and opportunities for expanding exchange programmes for students as well as academic and administrative staff.
The parties paid particular attention to the possibilities of implementing joint research projects, organizing international conferences and academic events, and developing future educational initiatives. Participants emphasized the importance of international cooperation in enhancing the quality of higher education and providing students with broader access to international academic experiences.
As part of the visit, the guests were introduced to the history of Batumi Navigation University, its strategic development priorities, educational programmes, and international partnership network. They also toured the university’s educational infrastructure, including modern classrooms, specialized laboratories, and maritime simulation centres, where they received detailed information about the practical and professional training processes offered to students.
A cultural and educational programme was also organized for the visitors, providing them with an opportunity to explore Batumi’s cultural and historical landmarks. Such activities contribute to further strengthening academic and cultural ties between Georgia and Serbia.
The visit concluded with discussions on future cooperation plans and a reaffirmation of both institutions’ commitment to further developing their partnership. The representatives expressed their willingness to intensify joint activities within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme and other international initiatives in the coming years.
