On November 28, 2024, the Kherson State Maritime Academy hosted the IV International Scientific-Practical Conference on "Problems of Sustainable Development of the Maritime Industry."

Prominent maritime educational institutions from Ukraine, Georgia, Lithuania, Azerbaijan, Cyprus and other countries took part in the event.

In his opening address, Associate Professor George Gabedava, Head of the International Relations Service at Batumi Navigation Teaching University, highlighted the significance of collaboration among participating nations for advancing the maritime sector.

"This conference unites expertise from Ukraine, Lithuania, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Cyprus, enabling joint efforts to tackle critical issues such as innovative maritime transport technologies, environmental protection, the advancement of maritime education, and human factors management," he stated.

The conference featured nine specialized sections focusing on topics such as maritime transport automation, intelligent systems, decision-making support systems, marine safety and ecology, maritime transport economics, human resources, and risk management.

Held online, the event included a plenary session and thematic workshops. The Scientific Committee comprised esteemed scholars from the participating countries.

International conferences like this play a crucial role in fostering knowledge exchange in maritime education and strengthening partnerships among academic institutions globally.
