International Conference "Green and Digital Transformation in Tourism"

Associate Professor George Gabedava, Head of International Relations Office at Batumi Navigation Teaching University, attended the final conference of the TOURing project held in Brussels on December 5, 2024. The conference was organized within the framework of an EU co-funded project.

The event focused on the latest trends in green and digital transformation within the tourism sector, with particular emphasis on the importance of skills development. The conference featured presentations on the EU's latest tourism policies, the status of the sector's transformation pathway, regional skills partnership initiatives, and upskilling strategies for SMEs in the tourism sector.

The conference brought together representatives from the tourism and education sectors, policymakers, and practitioners. The event included two significant panel discussions focusing on regional skills partnerships and upskilling strategies for SMEs in the tourism sector.

The conference was held at the office of the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW) of the European Commission.
