International Project - Blue Ports

On July 11, Elida Khvedelidze, Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs at BNTU, and George Gabedava, Head of the International Relations Service, attended the second meeting of representatives from the beneficiary countries of the international project Blue Port.   This project, which commenced in November 2023, aims to promote the "greening" of harbors. It will address the needs, challenges, and opportunities in the maritime industry by focusing on developing "green skills" for the workforce in the port sector. The initiative includes creating modern, fully digital educational materials and a certification scheme for both trainers and trainees. This will help enhance "green," managerial, and project management skills in line with maritime industry standards.   During the meeting, participants discussed innovative educational materials, modules, and the improvement of digital, green, managerial, and project management skills, as well as certification, testing, and evaluation schemes in detail.   The project is supported and funded by the European Commission, with Italy, Spain, and Greece participating alongside Georgia.   The meeting was hosted by the Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia.
