Logistics is among the most dynamically growing sectors globally, and it is especially in demand in Georgia due to the country's advantageous geostrategic location and its key role in the TRACECA transport corridor. These factors grant Georgia a unique opportunity to offer high-level transport and logistics services for intercontinental transport flows. Consequently, the demand for qualified personnel in this sector is significant.

Georgia aligns with the strong economic and political interests of the global community, allowing the country to serve as a vital transit bridge between Europe and Central Asia. In response to the requirements of transportation and its associated services, the market economy has emphasized the need to implement a more flexible and convenient transport policy. Additionally, it has underscored the importance of training specialists capable of managing cargo flows and improving the efficiency of national transport systems, highlighting the relevance and necessity of this program.

Program Objectives

The primary goal of the educational program is to train graduates with the knowledge and skills that meet the needs of both local and international labor markets. Graduates will know: the stages of business plannin, factors influencing the business environment, principles of rationalization and optimization in logistics and transport services, theoretical and practical aspects of managerial activities, concepts surrounding the organization and management of logistics processes, including methods and methodologies; the supply chain of goods (services) as a unified, integrated technical-technological and business-economic mechanism the specific features of using this mechanism in delivering goods from raw material origin to the end consume.

They will be able to analyze current information and apply sectoral research findings practically and in compliance with legal regulation, plan logistics processes, evaluate operational risks, and draw well-structured conclusions both in writing and orally, conduct professional and organizational activities responsibly while adhering to ethical norms, independently assess and enhance their knowledge and skills within a changing work environment. 

Learning Outcomes

Graduates will:

  • Explain the stages of business planning, environmental factors, and characteristics of supply chain management processes
  • Use data analysis and research outcomes in managing business scenarios, transportation, forwarding, and logistics operations
  • Make optimal decisions based on rationalization and optimization principles for company logistics and transport services
  • Formulate recommendations for preventing potential risks in transportation, as well as for process improvement and optimization
  • Plan logistics operations through risk assessment, following managerial principles, legal standards, and insurance policies
  • Develop operational plans for creating and distributing inventory based on projected indicators
  • Apply modern information technologies in planning and executing tasks
  • Create financial plans that align with customer interests and tariff policies
  • Contribute to the development and execution of an organization’s functional strategies in marketing, finance, corporate affairs, competition, and human resources
  • Communicate effectively in both Georgian and English, including the use of industry-specific terminology
  • Demonstrate skills in individual and team settings, leadership, performance delivery, and accountability
  • Continuously improve based on self-assessment of personal and professional development needs
