Events Dedicated To The Day Of Seafarer 25.06.2020

On June 25, 2020, Batumi Navigation Teaching University planned a roundtable meeting dedicated to the Day of the Seafarer.
The participants of the online meeting „The Day of the Seafarer 2020 - Challenges and New Opportunities“ discussed the condition and the situation in the maritime field caused by COVID-19.
Rector of Batumi Navigation Teaching University, Captain, Professor Parmen Khvedelidze greeted the participants of the round table. Ms. Tamara Ioseliani, Director of the Maritime Transport Agency, made a welcoming speech.
Representatives of the ports of several countries, maritime HEIs, crewing companies, active seafarers, representatives of the Georgian Maritime Transport Agency took part in the meeting. (For more information on participants and reports, see the meeting agenda).
As part of the events dedicated to the International Day of Seafarers 2020, the Round Table meeting was planned by the International Relations Service.
In addition to the Round Table, Batumi Navigation Teaching University symbolically awarded successful graduates.BNTU’s band "SILVER DROPS" performed the hymn.
Seafarers on a sea congratulated their colleagues on their professional day.
June 25 has been celebrated as the Day of the Seafarer since 2011. This year, the the Day of the Seafarer is celebrated online due to the pandemic.
The slogan of this year's event is: "SeafarersAreKeyWorkers“.
