23rd Asia Maritime & Fisheries Universities Forum

22 October 2025

On October 22, 2025, Professor George Gabedava from BNU participated in the 23rd Asia Maritime & Fisheries Universities Forum (AMFUF).

During the forum, Professor Gabedava presented a scientific paper titled “Using AI to Enhance the Efficiency of Maritime Port Operations”, which was prepared in collaboration with Giorgi Mgeladze, a student of BNU’s master’s program in Transportation Logistics.

The paper was developed within the framework of BNU’s internal targeted research grant project — “The Use of Artificial Intelligence in Maritime Shipping: Enhancing Efficiency, Safety, and Sustainability” — and was funded by BNU.

AMFUF is a platform uniting leading maritime and fisheries universities across Asia, promoting research cooperation and the exchange of experience in maritime education, technology, and sustainable development. The 23rd edition of the forum brought together representatives from 33 universities across 14 countries.
