On June 2, 2026, representatives and students of BNU met with students of Kutaisi Public Schools No. 1 and No. 2. The event was organized by the Georgian Maritime Transport Agency and was attended by representatives and students of Batumi State Maritime Academy alongside BNU participants.

The visit aimed to promote maritime professions and maritime education, as well as to provide school students with information about the specifics of a seafaring career, career development opportunities and the current demands of the modern maritime industry.

During the meeting, BNU representatives and students introduced the university to the participants, providing detailed information about its academic programs, international opportunities, the importance of practical training and the prospects that the maritime sector offers to young people.

Students had the opportunity to ask questions, receive comprehensive answers, and gain firsthand insight into maritime education and professional development pathways. They also participated in a quiz competition, where the winners received symbolic gifts.

Such meetings play an important role in the career guidance process for young people. They help raise students’ awareness of various professions, support them in understanding potential career paths and enable them to make informed decisions about their future. Furthermore, promoting maritime education and introducing young people to the opportunities available in the maritime sector are essential for the sustainable development of the country’s maritime industry and the preparation of highly qualified professionals.
