BNU Representatives at the Georgia International Maritime Forum

On September 7–8, 2026, Batumi is hosting the Georgia International Maritime Forum — GIMF 2026. Batumi Navigation University is represented at the event by Lali Khvedelidze, Head of Administration-Chancellor, and Professor George Gabedava, Head of the International Relations Service.

At the official opening ceremony of the forum, participants were addressed by Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia; Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia; Arsenio Domingues, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization, and Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara.

The main theme and slogan of GIMF 2026 is “Where Seas and Corridors Meet.” The forum is one of the region’s largest discussion platforms, bringing together more than 400 delegates from over 40 countries, including representatives of governments, the maritime and logistics industries, international organizations and academia.

The event places particular emphasis on the opportunities presented by the Middle Corridor, the development of global trade routes, ports and regional integration, digital transformation, decarbonization, cybersecurity and modern standards of maritime safety and navigation.

The participation of representatives from BNU in the forum contributes to strengthening international professional connections, sharing contemporary trends in maritime education, and fostering cooperation between the university and the maritime and logistics industry.
