The First Stage of BNU’s First-Year Students’ Adaptation and Socialization Meetings Has Been Completed

At Batumi Navigation University (BNU), particular importance is attached to the rapid and effective adaptation of students and their full integration into the learning environment. To this end, the University has developed a First-Year Students’ Adaptation and Socialization Plan, aimed at supporting students, facilitating their academic and social integration, and ensuring their full engagement in the educational process.

As part of the first stage of the First-Year Students’ Adaptation and Socialization Plan, a series of meetings was held at BNU from 14 to 23 September. The main objective of the activities was to facilitate the rapid and effective integration of first-year students, familiarize them with the University’s academic and administrative environment, and provide them with the necessary information in a timely manner.

During the meetings, first-year students met with the deans of BNU faculties and heads of educational programmes, as well as representatives of the Student Registration, Examinations, Assessment and Monitoring Service, Student Services, Occupational Safety Service, Library, Public Relations Service, International Relations Service and Quality Assurance Service, and BNU’s legal counsel. Students also met with members of the Student and Vocational Student Self-Government.

During the meetings, first-year students received detailed information on:

• the structure of the educational process and the specific features of the academic process;
• registration and assessment procedures;
• student support mechanisms tailored to their needs;
• safety standards and preventive measures;
• the University’s internal regulations and legal support mechanisms;
• exchange programmes and opportunities to study abroad;
• library resources, services and rules for their use;
• the University’s communication channels and access to information resources;
• opportunities for student engagement and participation;
• quality monitoring and assessment mechanisms.

The First-Year Students’ Adaptation and Socialization Plan is based on the BNU document “Adaptation of Students and Vocational Students and Support for International Students.”

The Adaptation and Socialization Programme is an integral part of the University’s comprehensive student support process. Its goal is to ensure that, from their very first days at the University, students feel informed, supported and fully integrated members of the BNU community.
