Georgian sailor

On October 12, 2023, Batumi Navigation Teaching University was visited by Natia Labadze - a Georgian seafarer, who is the only active Georgian female seafarer who serves on sea-going vessels. She had a meeting with the Head of Administration - Chancellor of the Batumi Navigation Teaching University - Lali Khvedelidze and the Second Deputy Rector - George Gabedava. In 2015 (July 18) at the age of 22, in Hong Kong port, Natia Labadze went on a sea-going vessel for the first time on which she was hired to work. The vessel was Container ship flying under the flag of Panama. Natia was the only girl in the crew. She worked on this ship for 8 months. Currently, Natia holds the position of the Cheif Officer on the ship.
