Council of Rectors

On January 13, 2026, the Head of Administration–Chancellor of BNU, Lali Khvedelidze, attended a meeting of the Council of Rectors held in the city of Kutaisi at Akaki Tsereteli State University.

The meeting was attended by rectors and representatives of public and private universities of Georgia.

The session, chaired by the Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, focused on ongoing processes within the framework of higher education system reform and discussions on future plans.

The discussion covered student mobility for the spring semester of the 2025–2026 academic year, issues related to the volume of program credits and program transformation, as well as deadlines for universities to complete and submit questionnaires. The meeting was held in a question-and-answer format, and participants reached joint decisions on various issues.
