Public Lecture At Batumi Navigation Teaching University

Public lecture 'Europe - Georgia's Traditional Choice' was held at the Batumi Navigation Teaching University on January 21. Poet and philosopher Rati Amaghlobeli and writer and screenwriter Nestan Kvinikadze visited the higher education institution.

Who are we? where are we? What kind of consciousness do we have? What relationship have we had with Europe over the past centuries and what are our shared values today? - Rati Amaglobeli and Nestan Kvinikadze discussed these issues and answered the questions of the students of the Batumi Navigation Teaching University and Makhinjauri Maritime Lyceum.

„While discussing about European values, its democracy and plurality, it is impossible not to underscore Christianity, our main link with Europe“.

That we are a nation of European values, this is clearly seen in the 'MPS', in which man not only conforms to the European outlook, but creates the highest human values for modern Europe – was noted by the philosopher Rati Amaglobeli.

Writer and screenwriter Nene Kvinikadze also spoke about our country's journey to Europe, saying that sharing European values does not mean abandoning Georgian traditions.

The public lecture "Europe - Georgia's Traditional Choice" was held in the framework of the project supported by the Open Society Georgia Foundation.

The project started in 2020 and Ajara is the first region where activity is planned. Lasha Bughadze, Dato Turashvili and Paata Shamugia will deliver public lectures within the project framework.
