Public lecture

In October 2023 a public lecture "Challenges of the maritime industry" was held at Batumi Navigation Teaching University. It was organised in the frame of the serries of lectures planned for promotion of the meritime field. The lecture was specialy dedicatied to the students of the English-language undergraduate educational program "Maritime Navigation". The lecture was led by BNTU Assistant Professor Levan Davitadze, long distance sailing captain. The lecture discussed issues such as shipboard safety, seafarers' responsibilities, shipowner's and cargo owner's requirements, regulations at the destination port and environmental challenges. The second part of the lecture was devoted to a discussion. The students and captain L. Davitadze talked about the behavior of sailors during a storm and moments of professional psychology; They also discussed the demand for female seafarers from employers, crew members' attitudes towards female seafarers and their employment prospects.
