International Maritime Organizations Representatives Visit BNU
On September 9, 2026, Batumi Navigation University (BNU) hosted Professor Takeshi Nakazawa, Executive Director of the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU), and Dr. Alison Noble, Honorary Chair of the International Maritime Lecturers Association (IMLA).
The guests were welcomed by BNU Rector, Professor Parmen Khvedelidze; Head of Administration–Chancellor, Lali Khvedelidze and Head of the International Relations Service, Professor George Gabedava.
During the meeting, the parties discussed current challenges and international trends in maritime education, opportunities to strengthen cooperation between universities and professional associations, as well as prospects for developing joint educational, scientific and international projects.
The guests learned about BNU’s activities, educational programs and experience in international cooperation. The discussions also focused on advancing the quality of maritime education, sharing experience and best practices, strengthening professional connections among academic staff and expanding international opportunities for students.
Further development of cooperation with IAMU and IMLA is of particular importance to BNU. The meeting once again highlighted the University’s active engagement in the international maritime education community and laid the groundwork for future joint initiatives.
