International Training „The International Maritime Technology Advanced Training Program—Webinar On Maritime Education In New Era“ 30.10.2020

Representatives of Batumi Navigation Teaching University attended the international training „The International Maritime Technology Advanced Training Program—Webinar on Maritime Education in New Era“.

The training lasted for one week from November 26 to November 30. The following important issues were disscuced during the training:

  • Challenges from COVID-19 and practices of remote education and training;
  • "Digital Twins" as key maritime technology innovations for operation of intelligent ships;
  • Development of Maritime Education and Training in China;
  • Implication from PSC inspections;
  • Practices of seafarer examination and assessment;
  • Updates and trends of STCW conventions;

On the last day of the training, participants talked about the challenges posed by the pandemic to their maritime training centers and ways to solve them.

The training was attended by about 40 participants from around the world and was conducted through an online platform.

The training was carried out by the joint efforts of the Shanghai (China) Municipal Education Commission, Shanghai Maritime University and the International Association of Maritime Lecturers.

The involvement of BNTU in the training was organized by the International Relations Service of the University.
