Coast Cleaning Action

Students of the Batumi Navigation Teaching University got involved in the action of cleaning the coastline of Batumi. The event was organized within the framework of the project "Maritime Waste Management in Georgia".

The youth cleaned the coastline from the waste. The Marine Litter Watch phone application was also used today to identify the collected waste.

In order to avoid pollution of the sea and the coast, it is planned that the coastal areas of Batumi, Kobuleti and Poti to be cleaned, as well as seminars in schools and universities.

The project is implemented by the Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA Georgia), supported by EMBLAS Plus and funded by funded by the European Commission.

Maritime Transport Agency, Batumi Boulevard and Batumi International Container Terminal (BICT) are involved in the implementation of the project.
