International Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR)

The International Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) was held on 16-17 February 2022. The conference was attended by the Head of the International Relations Service of Batumi Navigation Teaching University.

The aim of the international conference is to develop cultural tourism in the Black Sea region and to support young entrepreneurs in this regard.

The conference was opened by the Chairman of the Government of Adjara, Vice-President of the Union of Maritime Regions Tornike Rizhvadze.

Representatives of up to ten countries (Greece, Italy, England, Spain, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania and Turkey) took part in the conference, as well as representatives of European institutions and international organizations were participated in the conference.

The following topics were discussed during the conference:

  • Blue Economy;
  • European governance:
  • Energy;
  • Climate change;
  • Maritime and cultural tourism;
  • Strengthening youth entrepreneurship.

 

On February 18, 2022, Stavros Kalonomos, Executive Secretary of CPMR, visited Batumi Navigation Teaching University. He met with the BNTU Deputy Rector, Chancellor and Head of the International Relations Service. The parties discussed ways to deepen future cooperation.
