Celebrating the International Day for Women in Maritime

On May 16, 2025, an event dedicated to the International Day for Women in Maritime was held at BNTU, where successful women working in the maritime industry shared their professional experiences and discussed the challenges and opportunities within the sector.
BNTU consistently supports the empowerment and increased involvement of women in the maritime field. Thanks to the initiative of the Head of Administration-Chancellor, Lali Khvedelidze — who is also the President of the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) Georgia — studies for female students at the Faculty of Maritime Engineering are fully funded.
The International Day for Women in Maritime is celebrated annually on May 18.
