SDG’s Youth Batumi 2025 – Student Initiative for Global Goals
On December 3–4, 2025, BNU hosted the student festival “SDG’s Youth Batumi – Student Initiative for Global Goals.”
The event, held through the initiative of BNU’s Student and Vocationa Students Self-Government and supported by the Regional Youth Center, brought together students from BNU and universities of the region around the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
On the first day of the festival, participants listened to presentations on sustainable development goals, modern challenges and possible solutions. They actively discussed the topics and planned the stages for implementing their initiatives.
The second day of the event was dynamic and inspiring. Discussions focused on internationalization processes, the role of women in the maritime sector and other SDG-related themes. Students also learned about the activities of the Regional Youth Center. Winners of video and mural sketch competitions were announced and symbolically awarded.
In the final part of the festival, a cooperation memorandum was signed between the student self-governments of four higher educational institutions in the region — Batumi Navigation University, Batumi State Maritime Academy, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and Batumi State Art Teaching University. This step marks an important milestone that will create new student and youth opportunities in the future.
We express our gratitude to all participants and supporters of the project.
