Meeting regarding plagiarism

On February 19, 2024 a meeting was held at Batumi Navigation Teaching University in connection with the International Day Against Plagiarism. The meeting was dedicated to the issues of academic honesty and the effectiveness of using the plagiarism detection system – Turnitin. Giorgi Abashidze, project manager of BNTU Research Centre, presented a report on mechanisms for increasing the effectiveness of Turnitin usage at the university.  The head of BNTU Quality Assurance Service, Professor Natia Mikeltadze talked about the about the mechanisms and principles of protecting academic honesty at the university. The meeting was attended by BNTU academics and invited personnel, as well as representatives of the administration. At the end of the meeting, the academic and visiting staff shared their opinions regarding the use of the plagiarism detection system and issues of academic integrity.
