Symposium "International Day for Women in Maritime"

The symposium was dedicated to the Day of Women Working in the Maritime Field. The symposium was opened by the Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization Kitak Lee. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) celebrated International Women's Day in Maritime on May 18 in support of promoting the recruitment, retention and sustained development of women in the maritime sector, enhancing their role, and strengthening the IMO's commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal V - Gender Equality. The IMO Assembly adopted a resolution on proclaiming of this day in 2021 and it is celebrated for the first time this year.
