Working Visit of Representatives from Istanbul Technical University to BNU

From 20 to 24 July 2026, Batumi Navigation University (BNU) hosted representatives of its partner institution, Istanbul Technical University (ITU), within the framework of the ERASMUS+ Programme.

As part of the visit, BNU welcomed Dr. Fırat Bolat, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Maritime of Istanbul Technical University, Hatice İpekbayrak, representative of the International and Global Exchange Programs Office, and Ali Cumhur İpekbayrak, representative of the Faculty of Civil Engineering.

During their stay, the guests became acquainted with BNU’s academic programmes, educational and research infrastructure, training facilities and the University's key areas of international cooperation. A series of working meetings was held with the University’s administration, academic staff and administrative personnel to review the outcomes of the long-standing partnership, discuss ongoing joint activities and explore future opportunities for cooperation.

Particular attention was given to further strengthening collaboration under the ERASMUS+ Programme, expanding mobility opportunities for students and staff, implementing joint educational and research projects, sharing international experience and developing new collaborative initiatives.

Istanbul Technical University is one of BNU’s long-standing partner universities. For many years, the two institutions have successfully implemented ERASMUS+ student, academic and administrative staff mobility programmes. This cooperation has made a significant contribution to the internationalization of both universities, the exchange of international expertise and the continuous enhancement of the quality of higher education.
