Student X International Scientific Conference

On May 18, 2026, the Batumi Navigation University (BNU) hosted the Student X International Scientific Conference in an online format. The event brought together undergraduate, vocational and postgraduate students, young researchers and academic personnel from Georgia and various countries worldwide.

The conference is an integral part of BNU’s long-standing academic tradition and was held this year as a milestone 10th anniversary international student event. The conference stood out for its broad international and academic representation.

The conference featured 88 scientific papers, bringing together 217 authors and participants. Alongside the students, 67 Academic Supervisors were actively involved, further emphasizing the significance of student research and academic mentorship.

The event gathered representatives from 20 different universities, educational institutions and academic academies across 12 countries, including Georgia, Belgium, Lithuania, Turkey, France, South Africa, China, the Philippines, Serbia, Bulgaria, Montenegro and Poland.

During the opening session, participants were welcomed by representatives from BNU, as well as international partner universities and organizations. Among the speakers were representatives from the European Vocational Training Association (EVTA), KEDGE Business School, Klaipeda University, the University of Montenegro, Stellenbosch University and Shanghai Maritime University. 

The conference program featured sections in English, Maritime Transport and Logistics, as well as Humanities, Social, and Exact/Natural Sciences. These sessions addressed pressing contemporary issues in the maritime industry, logistics, artificial intelligence, environmental protection, business, education and social sciences.

Notably, vocational students also actively participated in the conference, which promotes the integration of vocational and higher education, fosters the development of students' research skills and enhances their engagement in the international academic community.

In closing, the participants highlighted the vital role of such international academic platforms in advancing student research, sharing knowledge and fostering future collaboration.
