Admission to BNU Without Taking the Unified National Examinations

According to Georgian legislation, certain applicants are exempt from passing unified national exams, including:

• Foreign citizens and stateless persons who have obtained full general education or its equivalent in a foreign country; or foreign citizens and stateless persons (except those who also hold Georgian citizenship) who have obtained full general education or its equivalent in Georgia through educational programs recognized by Georgia as foreign or international programs.
• Citizens of Georgia who have obtained full general education or its equivalent in a foreign country and who studied abroad during the final two years of their general education.
• Foreign citizens (except students participating in joint higher education programs or student exchange programs) who are studying or have studied at a higher education institution recognized under the legislation of the respective foreign country and have earned academic credits and/or obtained a qualification.
• Citizens of Georgia (except students participating in joint higher education programs or student exchange programs) who, for the period determined by the Ministry, reside or have resided abroad, study or have studied at a higher education institution recognized under the legislation of the respective foreign country, and have earned academic credits and/or obtained a qualification (excluding qualifications obtained through distance learning programs that are not recognized in Georgia in accordance with Georgian legislation).

Documents to be Submitted

• Filled in application form
• The original and a copy of personal identification card (ID card) (foreign citizens must submit a copy of their passport or ID card along with a notarized Georgian translation). For minors: the original and a copy of the birth certificate (notarized)
• Four 3x4 photos and an electronic version (on CD or DVD)
• Bachelor's degree – a notarized copy of a document verifying completion of full general or equivalent education, along with the grades sheet. For education obtained in a foreign institution, a notarized translation of the education certificate and grade sheet, along with the education recognition document (copies)
• An international English language proficiency certificate at the level required for admission to the English language program or equivalent. Applicants who possess the necessary English language skills but lack an international certificate have the option to take an English language test offered by BNU.
• For the maritime education program – medical examination form #100/a (original), issued by an authorized medical institution (the Seafarers' Medical Center "Sagitarius").

The applicant should submit the required documents to the BNU's Chancellory or email them to the Foreign Education Department at admissions@bnu.edu.ge. Once received, the department forwards the documents to the BNU's Chancellory, where the application is registered.

After registration, the applicant will have an online interview with representatives from BNU's Language School and the International Relations Service.

Upon successfully passing the interview, a letter of approval for enrollment in the program will be issued. The Foreign Education Department will inform the applicant via email about the success or failure of their application.

It is important to note that receiving a letter of consent for enrollment at BNU does not guarantee a place in the program.

Applicants must have their educational documents from abroad recognized by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (www.eqe.ge, email: info@nea.ge).

All documents must be translated into Georgian and notarized. Incomplete documentation will not be accepted for review.

 

Visa and Residence Permit

Before traveling to Georgia, students must obtain a visa of the appropriate category by applying to the nearest Georgian diplomatic or consular mission in their home country. For more information on obtaining a visa, visit: https://www.geoconsul.gov.ge/ka
