Program Purpose:
The program aims to develop skilled professionals in the field of maritime transport services, specifically focusing on training Engine Room Ratings for the ship's engine department.
Qualification Awarded: Basic vocational qualifications in the Ship's Engine Room Operation.
Career Opportunities and Employment Scope:
Graduates will receive documentation confirming their education and practice completion. They must then undergo certification to obtain the necessary credentials. With these documents, they can take the exam to receive a work diploma from the Maritime Transport Agency under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
Based on the basic vocational qualifications for the ship's engine room operation, meeting seafarer certification requirements as per the Georgian Law "On Education and Certification of Seafarers," and possessing recognized seafaring experience, graduates can obtain a work license (qualification certificate). This certification enables employment in various sectors, including the maritime merchant fleet, passenger transport, port auxiliary services, the fishing industry, and other ship-related roles within the engine department. Employment opportunities also exist in state or private institutions related to marine transport services and operations.

Upon graduation, a graduate will be able to:
- Provide technical maintenance for boilers, machinery and equipment systems in the ship's engine room.
- Carry out repairs on engine room mechanisms
- Manage engine room shifts
- Perform painting tasks
- Participate in fuel receiving and pumping operations
- Assist in operations related to bilge and ballast water management
- Manage the work environment and inventory
- Ensure safety on board
