The objective of this course is to ensure the training of Electro-Technical Ratings (ETR) in compliance with the applicable Georgian legislation and international requirements for the maritime transport sector (both cargo and passenger).
The course fully aligns with the requirements of STCW 1978 Convention as amended, specifically Regulation III/7 and Section A-III/7 of the STCW Code.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Safely operate, maintain, and repair electrical equipment, electronic systems, and control systems at the support level;
- Assist in the operation and monitoring of electrical systems and mechanisms;
- Utilize electrical and electronic hand tools during inspections, maintenance, and repairs to identify irregularities;
- Support technical maintenance and repairs on board the ship;
- Contribute to the upkeep and repair of electrical systems and mechanisms on board;
- Assist in inventory management aboard the vessel;
- Apply safety measures and participate in the prevention of marine pollution;
- Adhere to occupational hygiene and apply safety procedures effectively.
Entry Standards
To enroll in the course, candidates must submit the following documents (copies with originals for verification):
- Basic vocational or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering and/or secondary vocational or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering and/or second- or third-level electrician qualification as per Georgian legislation and/or qualification in electrical engineering awarded under the Georgian Law on Higher Education;
- Civil passport or Seafarer’s Book;
- Seafarer’s Medical Certificate;
- Minimum 60% positive result in the "Marlins" assessment system test.
