Ship Handling and Maneuvering

 

The program covers the competences set out in Reg. A-I/12, Section A-II/1, A-II/2, Tables A-II/1 and A-II/2 (manoeuvre and handle a ship in all conditions) of STCW 1978 Convention and Code as amended.

Aims to provide deck officers with knowledge, understanding and practical skills in ship handling techniques to safely maneuver different types and sizes of vessels under various conditions.

Entry standards

For entry to the course the candidate should present:

  • Certificate of Competency or Certificate of Proficiency or educational diploma
  • Passport or Seaman’s Book or Seafarer’s Identity Document;
  • Seafarer’s Medical Certificate
